Second Preliminary Final - West Coast Eagles v Melbourne - Saturday 22 September Melbourne midfielder Jordan Lewis was charged after engaging in misconduct against West Coast Eagles forward Liam Ryan. The incident occurred during the first quarter, at Optus Stadium. A third offence for engaging in misconduct is classified as a $4000 sanction, but an early plea will enable Lewis to accept a $2500 sanction. West Coast Eagles defender Jeremy McGovern was charged after engaging in misconduct against Melbourne midfielder Jack Viney. The incident occurred during the second quarter. An offence for engaging in misconduct is classified as a $2500 sanction, but an early plea will enable McGovern to accept a $1500 sanction.
