Fremantle first-year midfielder Andrew Brayshaw has been unsurprisingly ruled out for the remainder of the season, after having surgery on his broken jaw due to a behind-the-ball punch from West Coast Eagles midfielder Andrew Gaff.
The young Docker had surgery to repair his broken jaw while also fixing three displaced teeth. The Fremantle Football Club released a statement confirming Brayshaw’s surgery, while stating that the 18-year-old was at home recovering. “Club medical staff have advised that the surgery went well and Brayshaw is recovering at home with his parents,” the statement read. “He cannot eat solid food for four weeks and will not play again this season.” Andrew Gaff will face the Tribunal on Tuesday night to receive what is likely to be a lengthy ban.
