The All Australian team has been announced for 2018, with a few new faces and an “unexpected” captain which make up the squad. The team was made up of 10 new players:
Lance Franklin made the All Australian team for the eighth time, but was surprisingly named as the captain for 2018. “It’s unexpected,” Franklin said after being selected as captain. “I’m obviously very proud to be captain of this amazing team. There’s such great players in this team, I’m stoked. “I’m proud, I really am. It’s been a lot of hard work, not only by myself but with all my teammates, to be the player I am today. “I’ve come a long way, not only with my football but with the person I am today. I’m really proud.” Patrick Dangerfield was named as vice-captain. All Australian Team 2018
